BBS is a service focused company. Our reputation matters tremendously to us as most of our business comes from your good word. While there will be a cost of service, our goal is to keep bicycling accessible. Pricing our work is challenging due to many variables. Often we find previously unknown damage or wear. This is why we only have a few fixed rates for items such as the basic tune up. Instead of listing a price for every possible repair or service, we want to promise you a result.
Here are some things to consider when scheduling your bike for service. If it hasn’t been serviced in some time you should expect that it will require more than the basic tune up. High wear items such as brake pads, chain and cassette, cables, and tires may be recommended for replacement. You are in control and we will not fix anything unless you authorize it. What’s on the Menu?
Tune up - $70
Our tune up starts with a proper cleaning. In this service we will do any necessary mechanical adjustments. Think of this as TLC and adjustment to maintain your ride in optimum condition! This will include new cables and housing as needed as well as torque checks, brakes adjustment, drivetrain adjustment, and basic wheel trueing. We also check for bearing play/noise.

5% discount for 2+ bikes
Distance Fee - $3/mi
The first 10 miles of travel from Bonners Ferry is given to you at no charge! For every mile beyond 10 miles we charge this fee to help cover our expenses. Mileage is calculated w/ Google Maps and using the Bonners Ferry visitor center (6373 Bonner St) as the starting point. The fee is rounded to the nearest mile. eg. If the distance is 16.4 miles you will pay a $18 travel fee. Depending on other appointments and at our discretion, this fee may be excluded or discounted.
Initial inspection/estimate - $25
Having mechanical trouble but not sure what all your bike needs? We will charge $25 minimum in order to come out and complete an inspection. If your bike doesn’t need parts or extensive service we may be able to fix it on the spot for only the $25 initial inspection cost and distance fee. This fee will be excluded if you opt for a tune-up.
Labor - $60/hr
Depending on the job we may need to charge by the hour. While we have fixed labor cost built into services like the tuneup or brake bleed, other jobs such as vinyl wrap take a variable amount of time.
Dropper Post Service - $45
Post rebuild.
Tubeless Wheel Setup - $35/wheel
Includes rim tape and sealant, (valves sold separately).
Wheel True - $25/wheel
Includes tension check and tolerance upon request for an additional $15/wheel.
Cup and Cone Bearing Rebuild - $30
(Axles, headset, and bottom bracket)
New bearings as required and grease is included
Brake Bleed - $35/brake
Equipped for Shimano and SRAM bleeds.
Fork Lowers/Basic Service - $60
Includes new fluid.
Rear Air Shock Basic Service / 100hr - $40
If your rear shock requires new seals the seal kit will be an additional charge in this service (~$25)
Sealed Cartridge Bearing Service (Labor)
We have a few different bearing press tools and we can accomplish most pivot bearing and hub bearing overhauls. These jobs are charged in labor and parts.
